Overview
The City of Kitchener is looking for dedicated and passionate role models who are committed to serving our community and making a positive impact on youth. As part of our City of Kitchener Youth Services team, you will work with a team to organize and implement nightly activities for youth in a fun and relaxed environment.

Responsibilities
Actively participate in creating a high-energy team ensuring to collaborate and communicate effectively with all team members
Assist in the planning of creative and engaging programs, activities, and special events
Promote inclusion and belonging by seeking youth input on program ideas and ensuring the safe engagement of all participants
Consistently demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm in delivering high-quality and impactful youth programming, ensuring active participation and meaningful experiences for all participants
Actively participate in the delivery of program plans, leading various youth activities such as sports, arts and crafts, games, etc.
Positively support young people in their efforts to try new activities, develop new skills
Role-model positive behavior for youth (teamwork, responsibility, initiative, and sportsmanship)
Supervise participants at all times and, as a team, address unsafe and unacceptable behavior
Assist youth participants to work together to resolve problems and conflicts
Ensure safety and cleanliness of program area and program equipment
Assist with the set-up and take-down of program equipment and supplies.
Ensure safe use, condition, and storage of equipment
Complete records and reports including program registration, accident/incident reports, damage reports, and safety checklists.
Provide first aid as required.
Proudly represent the City of Kitchener by providing quality programming and exceptional customer service
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Completion or partial completion of secondary school education (or the equivalent)
1 month of related experience
Must be at least 18 years of age or older by the first day of employment, unless otherwise specified
Valid CPR Level "C" and Standard First Aid Certificate
Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check at your own expense as a condition of employment issued after date offer of employment is made.
Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
