As the Technician Team Lead you will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Tractor Technicians, and Trailer Technicians to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action. Specific responsibilities include: Involves supporting new and existing Mechanics, Wash, and Shunt staff with day to day activities, information, tools, and training. Providing the Shop Supervisor with ongoing evaluation of team members’ performance and providing information necessary to contribute to the employee’s performance evaluation. Ensure mechanic concerns and needs are communicated to the Shop Supervisor. Ensure work quality meets Bison Transport and industry standards. Ensure mechanics are performing Preventive Maintenance Inspections according to specified Bison Transport format and practice. Identify mechanics training requirements and report to Shop Supervisor. Involves performing preventative maintenance on all equipment in the Bison Transport fleet. Supports the Maintenance Coordinator with job priority, and after hour parts source. Monitor and enforce safe shop and work practices. Qualifications: A Licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring capabilities Must have basic computer skills Must have a valid class 5 drivers license, Must be self-motivated, and strong mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated diagnosing and time?management abilities Previous experience and qualification to perform Safety inspections are considered an asset in this position, ability to obtain CVIP is mandatory Previous experience with all types and makes of tractors and trailers heavy-duty diesel trucks May work above shoulder level with power and /or hand tools weighing 15 pounds or less and in confined spaces Please note this position is permanent full-time and subject to a Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00 work schedule.
