Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Full-Time Carpenter/Labourer at our Homes by Lake Country Co-op site in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. We are looking for energetic and motivated Carpenters, 1st, 2nd, 3rd year or equivalent, with experience in construction carpentry and experience on a construction site to work under a Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in carpentry and eager to learn from experienced professionals in a hands-on environment.

Reporting to the Lead Carpenter, responsibilities for this position include the following:
• Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
• Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
• Assist skilled trades persons in performing construction activities at residential, commercial, and agricultural construction sites.
• Load and unload materials, move materials to work areas.
• Assist with erecting and dismantling of forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades.
• Operate and maintain various power tools; tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
• Remove rubble and other debris at job sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
• Support and follow Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Home & Building Products and Carpentry:
• A have a carpentry certificate or any of the levels of carpentry technical/apprenticeship process, provincial Journeyperson status is an asset.
• You have knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (Occupational Health & Safety).
• You are able to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings (with guidance).
• You are well organized and able to work independently and with supervision.
• You are honesty and trustworthy, are results-oriented, attentive to detail and strive to be the best in what you do.
• You have knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in carpentry.
• You are willing and able to obtain the required safety tickets: First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, and Telehandler certification.
• You have the ability to fulfil physical job requirements typical to the construction industry. Including the ability to lift, hold, and carry heavy weight.
• You have a flexible work schedule including weekends.
• You are available for intermittent day and overnight travel when required.
