Your role:
This is a work term position that provides students with the opportunity to experience working in a public accounting firm while working closely with experienced professionals. The successful candidate must be in the process of completing a business degree. As a co-op student, you will join a general practice team and will participate in all aspects of client service:
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing client accounting records, financial statements, corporate and personal income tax returns.
Draft and review financial statements
Plan and execute entry to level compilation engagements including preparation of financial statements and applicable tax filings such as T2s, T4s, T5S, GST & WCB and other compliance returns
Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to continuously improve technical skills
Prepare journal entries, individual and corporate tax returns
Conduct research on professional and technical matters
Prepare entry level personal income tax returns and related schedules
Support various projects and admin tasks as required
What you bring to the table:
Strong desire and dedication to work and learn in a dynamic work environment
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Required Skills and Qualifications:
2nd or 3rd year student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Completion of one or more financial accounting and/or tax courses
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.

Working Conditions: The co-op student will be expected to work in an office environment. During peak periods, there may be a requirement to work overtime to meet project deadlines and support team needs.
