Manufacturing Process Engineering is looking for a Manufacturing Support Technician to join our Calgary Manufacturing Support team that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Team Lead, Manufacturing Support, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the innovative manufacturing process and test solutions responsible for ensuring that the highest quality products are delivered to our customers with industry-leading service levels. As part of our Manufacturing Process Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to exercise your software and hardware knowledge when supporting the various manufacturing systems used across the Autonomous Solutions product lines. It’s a unique opportunity to become proficient with not only the innovative manufacturing systems but also the cutting-edge products themselves.
Responsibilities
Providing real-time support to global manufacturing sites by:
Investigating and resolving manufacturing process issues while preventing reoccurrence
Delivering advanced product troubleshooting support to production as required
Enhancing manufacturing test or process solutions including hardware and software
Monitoring test yields, investigating deviations, and taking appropriate action to resolve, including making manufacturing hardware or software improvements or proposing product or process changes
Analyzing product updates and implementing changes to the manufacturing hardware or software
Defining, performing, and optimizing preventive maintenance of manufacturing hardware
Continuously improving the manufacturing support process by identifying and correcting reoccurring issues
Creating and/or revising manufacturing process instructions and procedures
Ensuring that all assembly processes operate within lean manufacturing principles
Maintaining a safe working environment by following and establishing company safety procedures
Qualifications
You must be a current Business Operations Employee to participate in the Business Operations Placement Program
Must-Have:
Electronics technology diploma and 2 years related experience in electronic manufacturing OR high school diploma and 5 years of related experience in electronic manufacturing
Minimum 2+ years in a high-tech manufacturing environment
Experience with Mechanical Design or CAD software
Experience with process development or process improvement (PFD, PFMEA, Floor Layouts)
Experience with formal problem solving (8D investigation)
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Word, Excel)

Enjoy debugging and formal problem solving of mechanical systems; identifying and correcting the root cause to prevent it from happening again
Proven collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (i.e. readily and willingly shares information and expertise with others and facilitates the exploration of ideas and solutions)
Confident self-starter who is comfortable working individually but know when to ask for help
Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and takes an active and constructive role in quality and improvement initiatives
Nice-to-Have:
Lean manufacturing certification or experience
Engineering Technologist or Bachelor Degree in technical field (e.g. Industrial)
