About the Role
Eavor Technologies is hiring a Corporate Controller to join our growing finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Corporate Controller will provide leadership and oversight in all financial matters, ensuring the integrity of financial operations and supporting the organization’s overall financial strategy. The person is responsible for overseeing the traditional accounting functions, treasury, financial reporting, and investment accounting. The role will liaise with all units in finance and accounting to provide comprehensive and timely reporting.
Problem-solving and judgement is vital to in this role. While being able to provide the technical accounting view on various transactions (i.e., revenue recognition, leases, services, capitalization, depreciation and amortization, intangible assets, share-based payments, foreign currency, etc.), the ability to make complex judgements while working within the guardrails of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (IFRS)& an internal controls environment is critical.
In this key role, you'll ensure the accuracy of financial records, resolve discrepancies, and enhance reporting processes. The position is a highly impactful and visible leadership role within the global finance organization.
Some of What you Will Do
Financial Management and Reporting
Supervise a team of accounting professionals and ensure good financial controls.
Lead and be responsible for global accounting and finance compliance teams & reporting.
Managing and overseeing the process of preparing, analyzing, reviewing, and ensuring the overall accuracy of financial statement reporting including the consolidated financial statements as well as monthly management reporting.
Manage relationship with our external auditors (fee negotiations, audit scopes and materiality etc., timing etc.).
Financial reporting responsibilities including consolidating, ensuring the accuracy of and reporting Eavor’s financial information in accordance with IFRS and local accounting requirements as applicable.
Responsible for preparation of the financial reporting packages for the board of directors and audit committee.
Interpreting unique events or transactions and assessing the related accounting and technical IFRS implications; working cross-functionally with tax, functional finance, local office teams.
Serve as the lead to coordinate with external auditors regarding the annual audit process. Liaise with external auditors, regulatory authorities on financial matters as necessary.
In addition is responsible for establishing and communicating various accounting policies and procedures globally. The team acts as the central point of contact for all accounting topics supporting all of Eavor’s geographies.
Develop and maintain robust financial systems, policies, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Building strong working relationships with the local office finance teams.
Compliance and Risk Management
Work with the operations and business units on budget/forecasting and planning matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations requirements in financial operations and reporting.
Implement and maintain effective risk management practices, identifying and mitigating financial risks to protect the organization’s assets and reputation.
Tax compliance and planning
With assistance from tax service providers:
ensure tax compliance with local, state, federal and international tax law;
oversee the preparation and review tax returns, statements and disclosures;
assess tax implications of business transactions and advise the business accordingly;
identify and mitigate tax risks; and
identify tax planning opportunities and execute tax strategy plans.
Develop internal systems to monitor compliance with tax regulations.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to foster a high-performing and motivated finance department.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the finance team.
Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure effective financial management and support organizational goals.
Create a culture of change that aspires to support the organization in its needs.
Serve as the global subject matter specialist on various accounting topics; preparing and delivering related training to the global finance community.
Other
Treasury management including daily tasks such as payment processing, executing financial trades (i.e. FX) and optimizing cash on hand and interest earning capabilities.
Management of the internal ERP design, implementation and overall operational effectiveness, including documentation and managing consultants as needed.
Drive process improvement projects related to the ERP and finance systems and business processes.
Some of What you Will Need
10 - 15 years of accounting-related work experience, including IFRS, management, and financial reporting
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent and CPA is required
Previous experience working in a major public accounting firm is preferred
6 years of management experience at a large multinational company leading and developing team members
Good management judgment, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple priorities; experience managing an international team
Previous experience working within a multi- currency environment, where foreign operations represent a significant portion of consolidated results
Experience managing the external auditor relationship and process; experience working with actuarial firms a plus
Possess excellent technical knowledge of IFRS, specifically in the areas of consolidations/eliminations, mergers and acquisitions, intangibles and goodwill, intercompany transactions, share-based transactions, foreign currency translation and transaction adjustments.
Experience with the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS required
Excellent analytical and reporting skills; ability to understand complicated topics, apply critical thinking, apply judgment and make decisions using very limited information
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable interacting with peer group, senior leadership and third-party service providers
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple changing priorities along with day-to-day responsibilities
Strong work ethics, professional attitude, and reliability
