Job Description and Responsibilities The Area Supervisor responsible for supervising a team of production employees delivering a premium pipe product to customers while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in the tubular mill. This role coordinates pipe mill activity such as hydrostatic testing, repairing, processing, grinding, beveling and shipping of pipe. Interpro Pipe and Steel is committed to maintaining and promoting a safe, healthy and injury-free environment. Supervises employees including activities such as hiring, training, coaching, development and performance management. Ensures a safe workplace including adherence to and input into safety policies and procedures including completion of risk assessments. Ensures compliance with the production quality assurance program and the American Petroleum Institute (API). Ensures departmental metrics are met daily (safety, quality, productivity). Prepares a weekly labour schedule to meet production deadlines and requirements. Allocates and utilizes resources such as consumables, tooling, equipment, and labour to support efficient operations. Collaborates with the Maintenance team to ensure operational reliability and functionality of machinery and tools. Liaises with Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure steel meet predefined quality standards and specifications. Performs other duties as required. Requirements Post secondary training in a related field or a combination of education and experience. 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment. Experience in Tubular pipe manufacturing; Electric Resistance Welding (ERW), Helical Sub Arc Welding (HSAW) is an asset. Experience in ensuring production or quality in an industrial setting is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and guide a team in the accomplishment of Key Performance Indicators. Ability to create a collaborative atmosphere through positive leadership and team approach. Ability to establish and lead a culture of safety. Strong oral and written communication skills.
