Job Description & Responsibilities The Operations Manager is responsible for managing employees and operations to drive operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, and production in the Tubular Mill. The successful candidate works proactively to coordinate process and material flow, inclusive of employees and equipment. Promote a safe working environment and sustainable operational practices including proactively working to reduce safety risks while creating a safety-first culture. Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures and regulations. Oversees the manufacturing process of tubular products from raw material intake to finished goods shipment. Ensures production schedules are met while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. Implements best practices to streamline operations and reduce production costs. Implements quality control measures to ensure that all tubular products meet specifications and customer expectations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold quality standards. Collaborates with the Procurement and Logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and efficient distribution of finished products. Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations. Monitors expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality. Prepares regular reports on production metrics, efficiency, and quality performance. Analyzes data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Performs other duties, as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is considered an asset; combination of an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in an operations leadership role. 3+ years of management experience in a unionized environment. Excellent understanding of production processes, quality control, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles. Demonstrated Leadership experience driving employee engagement strategies and developing a proactive and positive culture. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle EAM considered an asset Demonstrated safety mindset. Proven history of building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships at all levels across the Company and with stakeholders. Strong oral and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment, work under pressure and switch gears quickly between projects and deadlines.
