The System Engineering team is pivotal to the realization of the Lightspeed
constellation system. Our activities encompass system and architecture design,
requirements definition, management and flow down, Concepts of Operation
definition, and system performance prediction and tracking. We collaborate
closely with teams working on Lightspeed segments such as Network, Landing
Stations, User Terminals, and Space Systems. We are seeking an experienced and
highly skilled Senior System Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. In
this role, you will leverage your expertise to lead and support system
engineering activities, including design, requirements management, and
preparation for major Lightspeed program reviews.

Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define Lightspeed system
architecture, system requirements, and network element (including satellite)
specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs.
- Contribute to the design of key aspects such as end-to-end communication,
network entry mechanism, service availability, spectrum management, and the
definition of concepts of operation.
- Define and manage the Lightspeed system architecture using Model-Based
Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like Capella.
- Predict and track system performance using tools such as Matlab
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers in the System
Engineering team.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system architecture documentation,
including subsystems definitions, interfaces, and data flows, to ensure
optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with the System Integration and Test team to plan the integration
and testing of all elements of the Lightspeed constellation system
- Work closely with Network, Landing Stations, User Terminals, and Space
Systems teams to ensure cohesive integration.
- Identify and manage technical risks related to the system design and develop
mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the satellite industry,
contributing innovative ideas to the design and operation of the Lightspeed
constellation system.
- Create and maintain documentation as required.
- Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure
project success.
- Prepare and present major program reviews to stakeholders.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) degree in Electrical Engineering,
Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 15 years of proven experience in satellite system architecture and design
- Strong knowledge of satellite communication protocols, orbital mechanics, and
space systems
- Experience with software defined satellite communication payloads.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies and space industry standards
