The Position – Payroll Specialist This position will report to the Payroll Manager and will work cross functionally with the Finance and HR departments to ensure the accurate and time driven delivery of the payroll service and be focused on process and continuous improvement. Job Description: Responsibilities will include: PAYROLL • Full life cycle administration of salary and hourly payrolls for US and Canadian companies on a semi-monthly basis including hires, terminations, salary changes etc. • Proactively take steps to ensure payroll runs are accurate and timely including auditing payroll reports • Be first point of contact to respond to employee payroll inquiries • Work with the payroll provider (ADP) to resolve any payroll issues • Recommend best practices for payroll. Create, update and maintain payroll procedure documents THE PERSON The successful candidate will demonstrate: Education and Industry Knowledge: a minimum of 5 years’ direct payroll experience a minimum of 3 years' US Payroll experience CPP or APA designation; PCP or PLP designation (either/or working towards completion) Strong knowledge of payroll theories and legislation in both Canada and the United States Technical Skills Must have expert experience with ADP (Workforce Now) or similar payroll processing service Experience with Workday (or a similar Employee Management system) and how the 2 systems can integrate Must have expert computer skills in Microsoft Office Intermediate skills in Excel i.e. creating large spreadsheets containing multiple formulas, “if” statements, pivot tables etc Advanced skills in Word i.e. mail merge, labels, etc Business Strategy Skills High integrity with the ability to deal with confidential, sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism Independent thinker with good judgment and discretion Dedicated commitment to providing superior, timely internal and external customer service Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team, and with individuals throughout the organization Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form Ability to think analytically with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvement Demonstrated administrative excellence; highly organized, able to multi-task, accurate and detail-oriented Must have a willingness to learn and take initiative, possess a strong work ethic Ability to build rapport and diplomatically handle challenging or tense situations Ability to adapt and thrive in an atmosphere of changing priorities Worker Type: Regular Number of Openings Available: 0 Here at Trapeze, we strive to ensure that our employees succeed in all aspects of their career.
