The Opportunity
Position Summary:
The Operational Planner – BRCC will play a critical role in supporting the
successful commissioning and operationalization of the Bridgeland Capital Care
Centre (BRCC). As a member of the Carewest BRCC operations commissioning team,
the position will provide oversight and coordination for all equipment transfers
to BRCC from the decommissioned site as well as the coordination of any net new
furniture and equipment purchases through Carewest Calgary Health Foundation
funds.
The Operational Planner will achieve success by working collaboratively with
Carewest operations and Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) Furniture & Equipment
(F&E) Install Coordinator and other key stakeholders pivotal to the
commissioning of the new facility. This position is required to travel to
healthcare projects within Calgary. Safety training is required to access
construction sites, as well as approved personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma preferred in a health discipline field.

2- 5 years’ experience with project management, capital management,
procurement.

Proven experience in operational planning, procurement, or project management
within a healthcare or similar setting.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage
multiple competing priorities and deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with
diverse stakeholders.

The incumbent needs to be comfortable working with clinical & non-clinical
staff, senior management, vendors and Carewest leadership.

They also require a general understanding of health facilities design and
operations.

The successful candidate must perform effectively in a high pressure,
project-based work environment with frequent workload changes and competing
demands/deadlines.
Preferred:
-
Previous experience with operational readiness and commissioning of a
continuing care project an asset.

Project management experience.
-
Experience with new continuing care buildings, equipment, infrastructure, IT
systems is an asset. Experience with Microsoft Project an asset.

Experience with reading and understanding design drawings;

AutoCAD an asset.
