Position Overview
We are seeking an individual to join our team in the Calgary office.
Join a high-performing wealth management team where your skills in financial planning, relationship management, and investing will be developed. We are looking for a driven professional ready to grow into an advisor and financial planning role over time.
Duties and Responsibilities
Investment Advisor Support:
• Support client communication and relationship management to ensure a high standard of personalized service
• Assist in portfolio management and execution of trades
• Prepare and present customized client performance and meeting reports and recommendations, including Investment Policy Statements (IPS), portfolio evaluations, investment proposals, and periodic reviews/commentaries
• Conduct research and support asset allocation decisions and investment product selection with a proactive and analytical approach
• Contribute to the development of marketing materials and assist in organizing and executing client engagement events
Client Service:
• Ensure an exceptional client experience through efficient handling of day-to-day service requests and ongoing follow-up via regular service calls.
• Attend client meetings as required, including prospect and annual review meetings
• Participate in client meetings to manage meeting notes and action items
• Assist with regular client communication such as updating websites, newsletters, and attending client events
• Adhere to firm and regulatory policies by remaining up to date with all the regulatory rules and trading activities as it relates to a client’s account and ensuring that any client interaction is accurately documented
Administration:
• Support client administration by preparing account and compliance document updates, assisting with tax-related inquiries, processing contributions, and coordinating foreign exchange transactions
Qualifications
• Interest in financial markets and investment advisory services
• Proactive and self-motivated with a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Ideally 2-5 years’ experience in the financial services industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to build relationships within a sales and entrepreneurial environment
• Quick to learn financial technologies, CRM systems, and compliance platforms
• Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of client account management and reporting
• Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment
• Effective problem-solver with the ability to work independently and within a team
• Dedicated to providing exceptional service and maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance
Education
• An undergraduate degree and/or postgraduate degree
• Enrollment or intention to pursue the CFP, CFA or similar program is an asset
• Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) and Wealth Management Essentials (WME) is required.
• Licensed as an Investment Representative (IR) or intention to become licensed as an IR within 6 months
