ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Specialist, Indigenous Health and Wellness Program is a member of HSO’s Accreditation Canada’s team and will play a key role in supporting clients throughout their accreditation journey.
We are seeking an individual with Indigenous heritage for the position of Specialist, Indigenous Health and Wellness Program. As the Specialist, you will employ a strengths-based approach to help build the capacity of clients to plan for accreditation, to prepare for the onsite visit by surveyors, to provide post-survey support to organizations on their continuous quality improvement learning journey. This position will also foster client growth through the development, application, and evaluation of education sessions or other material with an Indigenous perspective for teaching.
Main Responsibilities:
Project manage the survey processes from end-to-end to support the accreditation team to become proficient in planning and implementation, maintaining a focus on quality while working efficiently to meet targets.
Being the face of the accreditation process, from orienting new clients, to assisting them along the way to their accreditation. You’re their go to person when responding to inquiries.
You’ll build meaningful relationships with new clients and strengthen existing ones, as you support them in their accreditation journey.
Develop and implement blended learning modalities (instructor-led, e-learning, workshops, microlearning) supporting client and employee learning of the Indigenous Health and Wellness program.
Always keep the client in mind when proficiently reviewing survey reports and subsequent client feedback to strengthen the future of their healthcare services.
Provide advice and guidance on digital platforms and applications, including client end-user support.
Must Have Qualifications:
Lived experience, community-based or relevant work experience, or a university degree in a related field (e.g., Healthcare, Social Services, Business Administration), or a combination of these.
3+ years of progressive and varied experience in client services (ideally within the field of healthcare or social services).
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You’ll be interacting daily with our Canadian Accreditation team and our valued client organizations.
Understanding of learning methodologies, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
Understanding of Indigenous culture, community and traditional knowledge.
Experience working with Elders/knowledge holders
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to identify root causes of challenges and develop effective solutions in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrate adeptness in a fast-paced environment and workflow optimization through Microsoft applications and digital tools.
Desired Qualifications:
Are familiar with healthcare accreditation programs and processes.
Familiarity with the 5Rs in Indigenous education
Familiarity with the First Peoples Principles of Learning
Change management experience
