For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a
background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering or a related field.
As a Engineering co-op, you will be able to support senior engineers in exciting
projects, so don't miss out on this opportunity and join our team! If you are
not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to
either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of
the co-op term. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian
post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the
co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution
once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be
required, if applicable.

Resposibility
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental
rules and procedures
- Participate in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone
on site goes home safe and healthy every day
- Collaborate with engineering team to produce detailed plan technical projects
on site such as developing maintenance strategies for critical fixed assets.
- Opportunity to assist in coordination of maintenance projects relating to
plant, mine and maintenance expansions and modifications; responsible for
organizing, scheduling and monitoring the status of maintenance projects
- Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way
we do business
- Troubleshoot recurrent failures and determining root causes
- Collaborate with engineering and site operations to organize, schedule,
manage costs, analyze data, and monitor progress of projects

Qualifications
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical
Engineering
- Comfortable working in a dynamic industrial work environment with a range of
engineering, technical and operational personnel
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects
simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a
capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
and a solid understanding of AutoCAD and Solidworks would be advantageous
- Previous work experience in a technical or engineering environment is an
asset
- Experience with form design, macros, and data analysis is an asset
- Project management skills is an asset
- Experience with Power BI is an asset
- Able to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and
efficiently
- Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment
- Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse
audience would understand
- Spanish is a must

Salary Range: $4,700 - $6,000 / Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op
experiences completed.
