Learn more at shn.ca Job Description: ob Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions (primarily in EPIC Cogito platform and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI), that turn data into actionable insights. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and data visualizations. --- Key Responsibilities: · Design and develop BI solutions using tools like Power BI, EPIC Cogito. · Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and end-users to gather requirements and deliver insightful dashboards and reports. · Optimize and troubleshoot BI tools, reports, and queries for performance and usability. · Help design data models and data marts to support analytics needs. · Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security in reporting solutions. · Provide support and training to end-users on BI tools and dashboards. · Stay up to date with BI trends, best practices, and new technologies. · Create custom extracts using SQL to support ad hoc and specific mandated requirements. · Testing BI tools, dashboards, reports and extracts. --- Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, a related field, or equivalent experience. · 2+ years of experience in BI development or data analytics. · Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, EPIC Cogito). · Strong SQL skills (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL). · Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security practices. · Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. --- Preferred Qualifications: · Epic Cogito o Experience using Epic’s reporting tools and reporting databases o Certification in at least one Epic data model · Microsoft o Experience with Azure, or other cloud platforms. o Experience with Fabric or Power BI · Other o Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts. o Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis. o Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. o Experience with version control systems like Git.
