Amazon Advertising is a growing part of Amazon’s portfolio of world-class
products, serving billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks daily. As
the Software Development Manager (SDM) on Measurement Products team, you will be
at the forefront of the customer experience leading a team of full-stack
developers in delighting our advertising customers.
Our team’s mandate is to launch and accelerate adoption of advertising
measurement products and services that enhance advertiser experience on Amazon.
We are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of self-service
performance measurement products that enable Advertisers to understand the
impact of their Advertising on consumers. Our products are strategically
important to drive long term growth. With a broad mandate to experiment and
innovate, we are growing at an unprecedented rate with a seemingly endless range
of new opportunities.
We are looking for a sharp, tech-savvy leader to own and drive execution of the
product roadmap. Our product is built with a combination of ReactJS, Javascript,
JAVA, and REST. As the leader of a team of Software Development Engineers
(SDEs), you won’t be coding daily, but you should be comfortable reviewing code,
have a strong sense of technical design, and bring appropriate rigor to solving
complex customer problems. Strong partnership with Product Managers will further
ensure success.
As a people leader, you will build and lead the team, manage performance, and
shepherd the careers of your direct reports. Your excellent communication skills
will be used to sharpen technical ideas, establish clear priorities, and drive
high quality work.
This highly visible role requires frequent communication with senior leadership
in order to help shape and deliver on the product roadmap, and technical /
business / customer experience goals. You will be given an opportunity to own
and drive initiatives through the entire software stack -- from algorithmic
innovation, all the way down to the datasets that the back-end services consume.
You will also need a pragmatic and iterative approach to building software: an
ability to simplify and get things done with a demonstrated track record of
building and delivering software and working effectively with external and
internal teams.
The ideal candidate is looking for a career where you’ll be able to think big,
create, build, deliver, and impress. You look at problems holistically, and
thrive on the intricate complexity of understanding feedback loops and
ecosystems. You want to work on projects where you are implementing solutions to
real problems that require creative solutions, deep understanding of the problem
space, and challenging yourself and others to constantly come up with better
solutions.
