Our General Counsel provides strategic guidance across the Corporation, supporting operations, governance, compliance, and risk management. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal and administrative support across multiple areas including contract management, compliance, board administration, corporate filings, and records management.
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can collaborate effectively with senior leadership, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do:
Draft, proofread, and edit legal contracts, correspondence, meeting minutes, and other corporate documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or recommendations as required.
Maintain and organize legal files, docket logs, and documentation for active and completed matters.
Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, managers, and clients.
File documents with regulatory and compliance entities as needed.
Support the Records and Information Manager on FOI requests and corporate records management.
Assist with preparation and filing of corporate records, including annual reports and director changes.
Liaise with external adjusters and counsel for insurance claims and other legal matters.
Maintain corporate minute books and assist in gathering documents related to legal claims.
Provide administrative support to the PavCo Board through Legal and/or General Counsel, including preparation of agendas, resolutions, and meeting minutes.
Coordinate review, execution, and record-keeping of corporate contracts.
Maintain and update the contract database, including archival, reporting, and tracking deadlines.
Draft simple agreements and letters using PavCo templates; format and modify contracts as needed.
Collaborate with senior management on projects to ensure timely and efficient completion of corporate objectives.
Liaise and communicate with internal departments and external counsel as required.
What You Will Have:
Diploma or Certification from an accredited Paralegal program;
5–7 years of relevant paralegal experience, ideally in corporate/commercial or public sector law.
In-depth knowledge of corporate law, governance processes, and contract management.
Familiarity with FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, BC) and related compliance obligations is an asset.
Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with executives, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Clear, concise, and professional communicator who grasps requests quickly and gets straight to the point.
Proficiency in legal terminology, procedures, and software; Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
Analytical, research-oriented, and highly detail-focused.
Experience with BC Online is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $66,983 – 83, 729
Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
