Position Title: Brand Manager – 12 month contract (2 positions) Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid) Reports To: Marketing Director or Senior Brand Manager POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Marketing, assume a leadership role in the management of the brand(s), setting the annual strategic direction for the brand(s) including the development of annual business and marketing communications plans as well as building an innovation pipeline. Execute plans and product launches with excellence via strong project management, communication and collaboration abilities. Conduct ongoing evaluation of said brand strategy leveraging your strong analytical skills, course correcting as required to achieve sales, market share and profit targets. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION SUMMARY Insights/Analytics: Prepare and present (or in some cases support Assistant Brand Manager) ongoing business analyses leveraging multiple sources of data (consumption, shipment, financial, syndicated, custom) to explain variances and identify forward-looking opportunity/risk to planned share, sales and profit Work with insights team to develop consumer and shopper research strategies and assets Marketing Communications: Develop annual marketing communication plan and execute with excellence to drive awareness, consideration and conversion with our consumers and shoppers including: Creating the brief through to execution of the initiatives in conjunction with internal and external agency stakeholders Leading advertising creative, media, consumer and retail promotions and new product initiatives including post mortems and sales presentations Planning/Strategy: Actively contribute to annual business analysis in conjunction with cross functional team and identify key issues and opportunities Lead development of annual strategies and business plans Retailer Strategy Support sales team in joint business planning exercises as well as pricing, promotion and merchandising strategies inclusive of key customer presentations Innovation: Develop innovation strategy and multi-year pipeline Lead innovation projects from concept to commercialization in conjunction with cross-functional team which includes regulatory, legal, project management, customer strategy, demand and supply Packaging: Lead label design projects in response to regulatory directives, product changes or artwork refreshes Budget Management: Manage expenses within brand budget QUALIFICATIONS Undergraduate degree or diploma Minimum 2 years experience as an assistant brand manager Strong communication, project management and creative problem-solving skills Demonstrates proficiency in both strategic thinking and attention to detail Works well within cross-functional team environment Adept at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and resource needs Takes initiative and demonstrates ability to work independently Proficiency in financial statements including Profit & Loss statement Adept in analyzing and deriving insights from multiple sources of data Proficient Microsoft office software (powerpoint, excel, word) Some local day travel required, potential for overnight North American travel 1-2 times annually We are looking for varied perspectives which include diverse experiences that can add value to our team.
