Who We Are:
At KEV, we help school districts eliminate the school finance blind spot. Our
platform gives district finance teams real-time visibility and traceability into
every dollar collected at the school level; whether it’s cash, check, or
digital. From field trips to fundraisers, we help them manage every dollar with
confidence. More than 26,000 schools across North America trust KEV to manage
over $4 billion annually. By unifying payments, accounting, and reporting, KEV
simplifies life for bookkeepers, builds trust with parents, and gives finance
leaders the oversight their current systems cannot. It’s how we help schools
stay compliant, reduce risk, and focus on what matters most, student success.
Backed by Five Arrows, the PE arm of Rothschild & Co., KEV is investing more
than ever to support K–12 in a world of tighter budgets, rising scrutiny, and
fast-changing tech. We’re headquartered in Toronto, with offices across North
America.
If you’re excited by the idea of building tech that protects schools, empowers
finance teams, and improves education through better systems, KEV is the place
for you.

simplifying administration for schools and making things easier for parents and
children. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to be
a key player on our Finance team.
This is more than a traditional accounting role. You will be instrumental in
scaling our financial operations, enhancing our control environment, and

professional with a continuous improvement mindset, this is a unique opportunity

Responsibilities (What You'll Do):
- Own the Close: Drive key components of the month-end and quarter-end close
process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
and supporting schedules.
- Drive Process Improvement: Proactively identify inefficiencies in our
financial processes, and design and implement scalable solutions to enhance
accuracy and reduce close times.
- Serve as a Technical Expert: Act as a key resource for the business on
accounting matters, providing guidance to junior team members and
collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex financial
issues.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Participate in the annual audit, prepare and
file monthly tax returns, and contribute to special projects, including
system enhancements and M&A integration.
- Master the General Ledger: Take ownership of complex account reconciliations,
including deferred revenue, debt, and intercompany transactions, ensuring the
integrity and accuracy of our financial records.
- Oversee Transactional Integrity: Manage the accounts payable function and act
as a back-up for cash application, ensuring all transactions are recorded
accurately and in compliance with company policy.
Requirements and Skills (What You Bring):
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation (or in final stages of completion)
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for
experience, ideally from a large public accounting firm
- Deep understanding of the full accounting cycle, IFRS/ASPE, and internal
controls
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to
partner with non-finance stakeholders
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a SaaS or FinTech environment
- Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite
