Our Toronto headquarters is home to our Corporate Services Team that manages our Finance, HR, IT & support functions. We are in a period of growth and wish to hire a Senior Financial Analyst that can help our finance function as we scale the business.
The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on the Accounting Operations and the processes including:
Lead the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting processes and variance analysis.
Provide month end variance analysis and commentaries that supports sound business decision making
Support the development and monitoring of business objectives and KPIs
Ownership over the full cycle financial reporting process, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end working papers. Ensure timely closing on all reporting matters.
Assist Finance leaders with all complex reporting matters, including liaising with external accounting and tax firms.
Lead certain complex financial reporting exercises such as intercompany reconciliations, deferred revenues, commission and other accruals, and consolidation of multiple entities with different exchange rates.
Prepare and/or review all monthly journal entries and ensure all necessary documentation support journal entries and general ledger balances.
Manage all government reporting, remittance obligations, and compliance with all local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Implement process improvement to maximize business savings and quality controls.
Experience/Skills Required:
Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) is required.
Minimum 5 years of post-CPA qualification experience, experience working in fast-paced matrix decision environment.
Working knowledge of accounting principles, budget creation and financial modelling.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels / departments within the organization.
Self-starter, proactive, with excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little guidance.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and very proficient dealing with large sums of data. Advanced excel skills, such as VBA, macros and coding, an asset.
Strong ability to think critically and deal with ambiguity.
Experience in a consulting firm or professional services environment is an asset.
