Summary:
AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory
Technician with experience in water quality analysis, microbiology and
toxicology working out of our St John's NL facility. This is a position with a
permanent status. The Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in
supporting our research and development activities.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm
What you will be doing:
- Laboratory Operations & Instrument Maintenance
- Perform basic laboratory procedures such as prepare samples, reagents, and
calibrations.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshooting as
necessary.
- Data Management & Quality Assurance
- Compile, verify, and validate data records.
- Ensure quality assurance standards and turnaround times are met, following
all SOPs and Quality Control guidelines.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Report and document results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or technical diploma in a
related field.
- Experience in water quality analysis microbiology and toxicology analysis an
asset.
- Working knowledge of BOD, CBOD, hydrocarbons, metal testing, ICP-MS, Mass
Spectrometry is an asset.
- 1-2 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.

Work Environment:
This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a
laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive
tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
