The Test Engineer is responsible for providing hardware and software engineering support for Redlen’s in-house production test systems. You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining production test hardware, test software, troubleshooting, and user training to maintain a robust, reliable test system infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain test system hardware and software; provide technical support for production operations.
Troubleshoot electronic circuitry using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
Support manufacturing by deploying new detector test infrastructure and transferring technology from initial prototype to standard production.
Develop configuration files, documentation, and setup instructions to support specific test systems used in manufacturing.
Provide complete test packages and work instructions suitable for use by production operators.
Contribute to the scale-up and expansion of characterization and testing capabilities, including automation and troubleshooting for various X-ray and gamma-ray applications.
Assist in material and device R&D experiments.
Support test platform design and integration.
Research, develop, install, and configure tools to improve testing efficiency and product quality; oversee regular operation and maintenance.
Manage source code repositories and bug/feature tracking systems.
Prepare test documentation, including test plans, procedures, and results.
Experience and Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution, with a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience.
Solid understanding of mixed-signal electronic circuitry, particularly in the context of embedded systems.
Skilled in hand soldering circuit boards, including fine-pitch connectors and small (0402) surface-mount components.
Ability to collect, organize, and extract meaningful insights from production data (considered an asset).
Proficient with software tools such as JMP and the Microsoft Office suite.
Competent in Python programming.
Experienced with version control systems (Git preferred).
Strong programming fundamentals, with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 CAD

The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
