Qualifications Required:
A post-secondary education in Communications, PR, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in communications, public engagement, or a related area.
Bilingualism (English & French) is a strong asset.
What You’ll Do:
Leading bold, integrated communications and engagement strategies that support City and Council priorities.
Collaborating with a creative team to keep messaging sharp, consistent, and visually on point.
Leading and designing meaningful and authentic public engagement projects to support informed and durable decisions
Advising City staff on key initiatives and emerging issues with strategic insight.
Navigating communications challenges with clarity, speed, and professionalism.
Translating complex topics into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences.
Creating everything from news releases to newsletters to web updates - and more.
Upholding confidentiality and high standards in all communications.
What You’ll Bring:
Top-notch writing and editing skills - you know how to make words work.
Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
A proven track record in strategic communications and public engagement.
Familiarity with IAP2 guidelines, best practices and recent trends in public participation
Ability to simplify complex information into clear, digestible messaging.
Data-savvy - you know how to use insights to improve strategy.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
Creative thinker with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital platforms.
Works well independently and enjoys collaborating with others to get things done.

Competitive Salary range $3,048.04 - $4,019.61 (Step 9/10 - Non Bargaining Salary Scale)
