Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Tooling & GSE Integrator, Field Service - Landing Gear; who will be responsible for providing industry leading tooling and GSE solutions for Collins Aerospace Landing Gear products and support to customers. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Field Service, Landing Gear and in this role you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maturity of tooling throughout the lifecycle. You will maintain and manage the creation and revision control of technical construction packages, liaise with customers and suppliers, incorporate feedback and improvements, and adhere to procedural Quality and EH&S responsibilities.
The position requires a proactive and driven individual with exceptional communication skills and technical competencies, who can work under pressure and prioritize effectively. The role is On-site to accomplish business requirements and to enable close collaboration with functional groups. The Tooling & GSE Integrator should be located within reasonable commuting distance to Oakville, ON, Canada.
What You Will Do
Design and develop tooling concepts to support both scheduled and reactive maintenance across production and in-service environments.
Create 3D models, annotated datasets, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 and other CAD tools.
Prepare and maintain revision-controlled Technical Construction Files, manage certification and declaration requirements for tooling and GSE (e.g. CE, UKCA, DoC).
Oversee tooling receipt, inspection, certification, and any necessary rectification activities.
Collaborate with Engineering teams to analyze and validate tooling designs.
Manage tooling and GSE inventory, including preparation of associated certification and logistics documentation.
Conduct first article inspections and support design and functional validation efforts.
Create, review, and update tooling-related documentation, including user manuals, technical bulletins, product catalogues, and customer communications.
Ensure adherence to EH&S standards, quality procedures, and company policies.
Accurately classify and mark technical data for upload into document management systems, distribute via approved secure data transfer tools.
Initiate and coordinate the transfer of drawings and models to suppliers, including facilitation of end-user reviews.
Liaise with external suppliers, OEMs, airline customers, and MROs to resolve technical queries and support solution development.
Perform ERP system transactions (e.g. SAP), including order creation, process monitoring, and approvals.
Evaluate new technologies and methods for integration into tooling and GSE concepts.
Plan and coordinate resources for outsourced work packages and external processes.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate tooling and GSE records within the master directory.
Provide hands-on support to Production, Testing, and Field Services teams as required.
Deliver training and usage guidance to customers.
Be available to support urgent customer and business needs on a 24/7 basis when necessary.
Report performance, condition, and technical feedback regarding Collins Aerospace equipment promptly and in detail.
Qualifications We Require:
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Structural and mechanical design engineering experience in aerospace or a closely related field.
Recent hands-on experience with 3D CAD software.
Must meet all eligibility requirements under ITAR and the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience in Landing gear systems
Experience in CATIA
Solid understanding of safety and ergonomic design principles, including risk assessment, human interaction, manual handling, and structural stability, particularly as applied to aircraft ground support equipment.
Familiarity with CE and UKCA requirements, including the Machinery Directive, Declaration of Conformity (DoC) processes, and Technical File documentation
Working knowledge of landing system functions, assembly, testing, fault isolation, and repair procedures is advantageous.
Minimum of 3 years' exposure to aircraft maintenance or production environments preferred.
General understanding of safe working practices around aircraft and ability to perform hands-on work when required.
General machinist or toolmaker experience is desirable but not mandatory
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively both internally and with external stakeholders.
Fluent in spoken and written English; additional regional languages are an asset.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Flexible and willing to adapt to changing business priorities; occasional travel may be required.
