The Vancouver Convention Centre is hiring a Logistics Specialist who can keep things moving — literally. You’ll plan and coordinate move-ins, move-outs, deliveries, and drop-offs.
Reporting to the Senior Overlay Manager, you will juggle multiple priorities, and make sure every truck, crate, and crew member gets exactly where they need to be.
Flexible schedule based on Event requirements:
Monday – Friday
Tuesday – Saturday
Sunday – Thursday
What You Will Be Doing:
Plan and execute move-ins and move-outs with the Events team, mapping out Voyage Control schedules, deliveries, staffing, and loading bay allocations.
Oversee two busy loading docks (27 bays) and work with the Vancouver Traffic Authority and staging partners to keep things on track.
Schedule and supervise our Logistics Coordinators and jump in to cover when needed.
Manage the logistics inbox, respond quickly, and keep everyone in the loop.
Step in as Site Safety Officer during event setups and teardowns when needed.
Partner with Facilities, the Port Authority, and City of Vancouver contacts to make sure everything runs like clockwork — from cruise season to convention season.
Keep our logistics systems (Voyage Control, Momentus) running smoothly, tracking every delivery and departure.
Develop staffing plans, pitch new ideas, and help us raise the bar for how logistics gets done.
Join site visits, planning meetings, and event walk-throughs to make sure logistics always has a voice at the table.
What You Will Bring:
Completion of a 4-year degree in Events / Operations Management or Business Administration is preferred is preferred or a combination of education and work experience.
5+ years’ experience in the events industry and large-scale venue operation is preferred.
Sound working knowledge of a wide variety of standard software applications including Momentus, Voyage Control, and Microsoft Office.
This onsite position calls for a flexible team player who can adjust to changing shifts and event schedules when needed.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
Detail-oriented, solutions-oriented, and a fast learner.
Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and creative.
Thrives in fast-paced environments, juggling multiple tasks with speed, and accuracy.
Quick learner and flexible problem-solver who is calm under pressure.
Communicates clearly and confidently with teammates, clients, and vendors.
Don’t mind swapping the office for the loading dock now and then.
