The Sales Learning & Development Specialist is a professional who designs, implements, and manages programs to help employees build skills, enhance performance, and advance their careers. They analyze a company's training needs, create learning plans aligned with business goals, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to ensure they are current and relevant. Their work is crucial for adapting to industry changes and supporting the overall success of an organization. Initially, the role will focus on the continued development and execution of learning plans for sales and sales leaders in the areas of consultative selling, planning, forecasting funnel management, talent acquisition and personal development and performance. Foundational to this role is the ability to develop and execute a sales leadership operating framework that transforms our customer engagement and market value from reactive, product focused to pro-active solution and customer outcome focused. A critical success factor is the ability to merge best practices with current industry environmental realities to equip team members to bring a fresh approach to value creation with our clients and be seen as a trusted partner. Reporting to the Director of TPO, the Sales Learning & Development Specialist will be accountable for the development and execution of all TPO related programs. With a strong background in training development, sales process, facilitation and program management, they will collaborate with all areas of the business adopting the TPO practice. Please note that being a strong communicator, instructional designer and writer are essential requirements for this position. This is a remote position that may require occasional travel to our corporate office in Edmonton. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Developing Learning and Development programs for Sales and Sales Leader professionals aligned to the Sales Leadership Operating Framework – content, process, programs: Sales Planning (Territory, Account, Opportunity). Sales Forecasting and Funnel Management. Sales Leadership performance development coaching. Tracking and evaluating the progress of deliverables, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions. Contribute to the selection and/or development of various program evaluation tools to continually assess content, outcomes, and their impact. Cross Functional Collaboration and Teamwork: Facilitate and drive extended team proactive engagement in sales planning and execution (development and delivery) to focus all of Alberta Blue Cross’s capability on competitively differentiated customer and market value. Collaborate and pro-actively jointly plan with the extended team to execute on sales and customer targets. Develop strong, deep and wide internal client and partner relationship development excellence, and sustainment: Built on personal and professional integrity. Co-ordinating and leading extended team partnerships (internal and external) to develop XBU Customer focused skill development focused on strategic customers and markets critical to Alberta Blue Cross’s success. Work with TPO Division Business Leads to execute sales planning engagement and skill development to achieve client and market objectives and expectations – e.g. Finance, Legal, Operations and MCX. Work with TPO Division Business Leads to execute leadership skill development to coach and develop employee skills and competencies to implement sales best practice as defined by the Sales Leadership Operating Framework. Create buy-in for new initiatives and existing programs. Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Works closely with internal customers/partners to implement best practices in coaching, leadership development and performance development. Continuously works to develop professional education, skills and experience in sales best practice – future focused. WHAT YOU WILL HAVE: Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Adult Education, Human Resources, Communications, Business, Organizational Development. 5+ years related experience developing and facilitating training and overseeing programs dedicated to organizational learning. Adult Learning certificate and/or curriculum development certificate from accredited institution. Experience developing leadership training and resources. Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization. Excellent presentation skills including facilitation. Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges. Exceptional communication skills, including written and verbal. Excellent active listening skills. Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with others. Ability to work well independently as part of a virtual team. Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships. Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
