Merchandise Analytics Manager Department: Merchandising Location: Toronto, Ontario (5 days on-site) Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time THE ROLE We are currently hiring for a Merchandise Analytics Manager to join our Central Canada Merchandising Team. Reporting to the Merchandising Director, the Merchandise Analytics Manager will work alongside our Local Merchandising teams, as well as our Global Merchandising Excellence and Data & Analytics organization. They will regularly interact and coordinate efforts with several different parts of the organization like Finance, Marketing, Operations, Global Merchandising and Data and Analytics, among others. They will be an ambassador to Data Driven Merchandising (DDM) initiatives, facilitate data-driven decision making and provide feedback to both Local, National and Global teams on requirements, performance, execution, functionality, and interpretation of organizational data. The ideal candidate has solid analytical, prioritization and communication skills, as well as the ability to translate data into insights and actions to drive business results. Actively participate in the ongoing reviews of pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies in connection with business process and planning. Document BU level strategic decisions around pricing, promotions, and assortment. Mechanize driving insights into actions by working with cross-functional partners (i.e., Business Unit Marketing/Merchandising Teams, Global Promotional, Assortment Teams and Pricing Teams) to identify gaps and make recommendations to improve existing DDM tools and processes. Use technical expertise to conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools, models, and approaches to provide our partners with insights and recommendations to meet business goals. Actively participate on the annual DDM planning process for the business unit Translation of insights and recommendations into stories which are prepared for and delivered to various stakeholders. Join our Global Analytical network on data and analytics issues and share experiences with other Business Units. Mentor junior resources and contribute to their career development. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks; or participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing determined Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines WHAT YOU’LL NEED We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for: Education: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related subject area. Experience: Three or more years of progressive responsibility experience. Knowledge and skills: Have a proven track record of delivering succinct and structured oral and written communications, leading conversations, and offering differentiating perspectives to senior business leaders. Experience driving large scale projects end-to-end, including demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous situations presenting them with clear, practical insights that accelerate business execution. Demonstration of strategic thinking, logical reasoning, strong communication and presentation skills, data interpretation outstanding analytic skills, and the ability to resolve complex issues. Experience working with individuals from different organizational functions and at different levels. Experience in a supervisory role, managing and developing people. Retail experience is an asset.
