Day (United States of America) Department: 100 - 846500 TG - Cancer Clinic Position Description: Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, the RN plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates nursing care for patients. This role participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other patient team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The RN assures all nursing services and patient electronic medical records successfully meet QOPI, JCAHO, ONS Chemotherapy Administration Safety Standards and ACoS compliance/certification, while increasing survivor ability and lessening the burden of cancer. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, verify pathology and laboratory results, and document all findings accurately in the EMR. • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care and treatment plans. • Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, ensuring timely interventions and follow-up for optimal outcomes. • Provide patient and family education on treatment protocols, medication management, and supportive care, reinforcing understanding throughout the care continuum. • Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards, ensuring proper communication and continuity of care across all settings. Qualifications: 1. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana. 2. CPR required 3. Oncology experience preferred. 4. Minimum knowledge of two years' experience in nursing preferred.
