The Order Picker is responsible for working with other teammates on the Order Picker Team to ensure the safe, efficient and effective handling of all customers’ orders. This is a very physical position with a lot of walking, lifting and time spent on foot during shifts. The shifts are Monday – Friday 7-330pm
What the teammate will be responsible for-
Completes walkie and tow motor daily routine checks; reporting any concerns/problems
Picking and preparing customer orders for shipping ensuring:
products are free from damage
sizing, stacking, and bulk preparation (including pallet weight and wrapping specifications) is compliant with shipping destination country legal standards (based on printed order content)
all shipments are accompanied by a packing slip and bill of lading, regardless of size or quantity
all shipments are wrapped in accordance with mandated specifications for specific shipping method/location using the pallet wrapper
safe loading into LTL trucks and/or oversea containers (ensuring MTO safe loading compliance)
Records and reports unresolved order issues
Reloads picking locations ensuring that FIFO principles are being applied .
Completes inventory counts (as assigned/required)
Assist in warehouse cleaning and organization; cleans work area per routine schedule and when required.
Ensures a Safe and Healthy Work Environment by ensuring alignment with Company Respect in the Workplace Policy in addition to the effective operation of the Health and Safety program and Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensures compliance with government regulations
What skills, knowledge and experiences the teammate will bring -
Secondary School Diploma
Valid Forklift license/certification for:
Electric Walkies/Sit down Forklift/Reach Truck an asset
Troubleshooting abilities; including addressing problems quickly and effectively
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Oral and Written Communication Skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs
