We are looking for a Loan Accountant who will support, facilitate and maintain the loan servicing and administration function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of loan transactions from initial loan funding, on-going servicing/monitoring to payout of loans and reporting. The Loan Accountant ensures adherence to existing controls surrounding loan servicing and administration for assigned loans and further develops systems of internal controls, supporting continuous improvement and upgrading of information systems and reporting.
Primary activities centre around:
General Loan Administration
New Loan Approval and Funding
Monthly Loan Processing
Loan Renewal and Modifications
Loan Sharing
Loan Paydown
Loan Payouts
The successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance and accounting
Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to balance multiple priorities and a high- volume workload, in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both quickly and accurately and with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focused
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
