Your opportunity:
Working under the direction of the Student Services Coordinator, International Programs, the Student Experience Administrator supports the administration and implementation of a wide range of programs designed to promote the active engagement of students (high school and undergraduate) in the International Programs Office at New College. The Student Experience Assistant works to maintain the smooth operations of extra and co-curricular events, assists
with social program activities, and works to engage and involve students in all student life initiatives. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of camp activities by responding to program inquiries, processing registration, preparing letters to applicants, distributing welcome packages, etc. The incumbent will provide excellent customer service and act as a resource for casual camp staff and camp participants.
As a member of the New College International Programs Office, the Student Experience Assistant, International Programs, will be committed to an equity that recognizes, supports, and responds to the diverse histories, lived and marginalized experiences of international students and many communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines
- Maintaining an inventory of furniture and equipment
- Using an assessment checklist when screening applications
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Liaising with students and faculty to coordinate program activities
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance
- Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of recent and related experience administering student life activities to support international language learners, preferably in a post-secondary education institution.
- Experience working with and serving as a resource to international students in a university residence setting.
- Experience working with and providing front-line support to high school-aged, university aged, and mature international students.
- Experience coordinating the logistics of events with various stakeholders, including casual staff, students and external vendors.
- Experience recording and collecting data, and producing standard reports.
- Experience supporting the administration of events and student life activities for summer camps.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Demonstrated skills in updating information on social media platforms (e.g. Facebook,Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
- Intermediate skills in StarRez,or similar student information systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to ongoing changes in priorities.
- Demonstrated strong student and client service orientation and experience fosteringequity, diversity and inclusion in a language-learning environment.
