FACULTY OVERVIEW:
Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Electrical program prepares students for employment as a construction electrician apprentice. Students will acquire breadth of knowledge and develop the necessary habits concerning safety, time and materials management, and hand tools and power tools. Various practical projects are performed in a shop environment to enhance students’ skills in lay-out, assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Faculty of Trades and Technology is currently seeking a Non-regular Type 1 Electrical Instructor to provide short-term delivery of Apprenticeship Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Electrical Foundation Level courses which may extend from a single day to several weeks, possibly leading to a regularized contract.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BC Construction Electrician Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE), or a Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal (IP RSE) from another jurisdiction, or a BC Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) with Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement (IP RSE), or a Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal (IP RSE) from another jurisdiction.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will be required to present a demonstration lesson.
Candidates will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check.
*SALARY INFORMATION:
Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
