Position Summary The Senior Client Data Consultant is a specialized professional responsible for leveraging data to support the tax consultants with reviews and reporting activities within the organization. This role requires intermediate level Data Processing skills, understanding of accounting and tax regulations, and the ability to interpret complex financial data to optimize tax analysis and reviews. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze large volumes of financial and operational data to identify tax risks, opportunities, anomalies, and gaps. Using MS SQL Server Management Studio to validate and process and export data. Using Microsoft Azure Data Studio to develop ETL pipelines and queries to transform and manipulate data. Perform Data Validation checks using MS Excel. Perform Data Mapping. Develop and produce standard and ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel and other visualization tools. Able to use text editors and other tools to manipulate and convert large volumes of data. Eg converting PDFs to table format, using OCR, etc. Collaborate with tax and data teams to streamline data flows and improve the accuracy of data. Be familiar with the Canadian Jurisdiction Tax laws. Perform Data Reconciliation. Support initiatives by modeling scenarios and forecasting tax impacts using advanced data analytics tools and AI. Be able to automate repetitive activities and processes as needed by the tax team. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and other team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT. Minimum 5 years of experience in database management, data warehousing; and data processing using structured querying language. Strong ETL development skills using Microsoft products. Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data models. Intermediate level accounting principles or 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting environment. Experience with Canadian Indirect Tax Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau) and tax software platforms. Critical analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data and tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
