POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Supervisor is responsible for assisting crews during general operation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting crews during general operation.
Conducting clean-up duties.
Restocks trucks.
Assists with the installation of underground plant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Enrolment in a post-secondary electrical discipline; or
Secondary school education together with proven knowledge of basic electrical theory
Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Superior customer service skills and ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
Must be able to communicate effectively with other Civic departments and suppliers
Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent
Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
Physical Demands:
This position requires constant standing/walking; frequent squatting/kneeling, and lifting up to and including 20kg
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation
May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract
After training, must be able to operate a one ton truck, asphalt cutter and ditch whitch
