The Faculty of Kinesiology invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the course listed below during the Summer 2025 term (pending sufficient enrolments).
KNES 201 - Activity: Essence & Experience
Participate in various activities and movement patterns and the study of the fundamental factors that influence the activities we choose and the way we move.
This is a special offering of KNES 201 as part of a dual credit program for Calgary high school students and will run from July 2nd to July31st, as follows:
Lecture: M/T/W/R/F, 09:00 - 10:15
Activity Labs: M/T/W/R/F, 10:30 - 12:20pm
Please note that this posting is for both the lecture and activity lab components of the course, with an objective of hiring one instructor for the entire course (i.e., lecture and activity labs). Labs must be two different activities, typically taught in two-week blocks; applicants are asked to clearly state what two activities they would instruct and provide some proof of related knowledge/ expertise/experience in their cover letter and/or CV.
General instructor responsibilities include: course instruction; assessment and grading; creation and management of the course D2L shell; communication with faculty staff in relation to teaching and learning as well as ongoing communication with students; and other assigned duties (as applicable).
Position Requirements
For all courses listed above, applicants must meet the following qualifications/requirements:
- Earned a master¿s degree in Kinesiology or a related field; a bachelor¿s degree in Kinesiology or a related field will be considered along with other relevant experience.
- Evidence of successful teaching at the university level and related to the content of the course(s) to which application is being made.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
