Description
The Department of Radiology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Summer Research Assistant. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 4 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Development and validation of MRS metabolic quantification methods
- Process data using statistical software to conduct basic analyses of trends in support of the research project
- Assist in the collection and tracking of data from monitored use of services and provide information to various internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare technical documents and monitor reports on volumetrics and other trend analyses
- Statistical support with a variety of analyses using different software and techniques
- Literature review, assisting with grant proposals, and preparing reports for presentation
- Preparing reports and presentations
- Generate various reports as required by the Principal Investigator and research team. May require presentation of reports to various stakeholders
- Generate PowerPoint presentations on behalf of the Principal Investigator and research team, to be used when presenting to various internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with presenting as required
- Support with developing figures and manuscripts for conference and journal publications
- Compile tables, charts, graphs, and summarized statistics for integration in research papers and reports. This includes materials for presentation and publication
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required in a related area. Master's degree is strongly preferred
- Experience with magnetic resonance (MR) spectroscopy
- Proficient in developing simulation tools in MATLAB
- Advanced skills in statistical software programs (e.g. SAS, STATA)
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability for professional report writing
- Ability to problem solve in complex situations
