Position Summary
Key Responsbilities
- Lead the Grey Cup media accreditation process
- Compile and distribute daily news clippings
- Assist with research and data-collection for weekly communications materials
- Contribute to the writing and editing of media releases and advisories, as well as other communications materials
- Update and maintain the league's stats archives throughout the season for media/broadcasters
- Provide support on various communications, public relations and media relations projects
- Provide on-site support for major events, including the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg
- May include assistance on game-nights and/or events outside of typical work hours.
- Other tasks, duties or projects as required.
Qualifications \& Skills
- Post-secondary education in journalism, public relations, communications or related field, or a minimum of two years of combined education and experience is required.
- Bilingual (French/English) an asset.
- Strong written, editing and proof-reading skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, including Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, administrative, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy is required.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and the ability to reprioritize to meet shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of the CFL and Canadian football is a major asset.
- Experience in brand and reputation management is an asset.
- A strong interest in a career in sports or digital content is an asset.
- Fully bilingual in English and French is considered a major asset.
Other Considerations
- Hybrid Model: The incumbent will be required to attend the office at least two (2) days per week. In addition, you are required to attend meetings an other business events at the office or other venues as business needs dictate.
- Work Schedule: Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
- Travel: The incumbent must be able to travel throughout Canada for CFL Piller Events, as required.
