POSITION DESCRIPTION -- DATA ANALYST, OPERATIONS \& HSSEPOSITION OVERVIEWReports to: Head of Operational AnalyticsLocation: VancouverPOSITION SUMMARYThe Data Analyst, Operations and HSSE (Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment) plays a critical role in supporting health and safety, sustainability, and operational reporting across a global portfolio at Eldorado Gold. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement in site performance. The analyst ensures the timely and accurate consolidation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, integrating data from multiple sites and operational systems.
The Analyst will collaborate with site teams and corporate functions to enhance operational and HSSE data generation, validation, tracking and reporting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESData Visualization \& Business IntelligenceDesign and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools to enhance decision-making and planning. Integrate operational software insights into dashboards to improve operational visibility and forecasting.
Create clear, user-friendly data visualizations to communicate complex operational, health \& safety, and sustainability trends. Continuously enhance data visualization techniques to improve data accessibility insights for sites and corporate teams. Operational Performance \& ReportingSupport the completion and maintain updated key operational and HSSE data processes mapping.
Consolidate operational data from multiple mine sites for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports. Utilize AVEVA and Pi data historian to collect, process, and analyze real-time mining and processing data. Automate reporting processes to enhance data accuracy, efficiency, and transparency across sites.
Work closely with operations and technical services teams to improve data collection, standardization, and reporting methodologies. Provide ad hoc analysis on production, mining and processing efficiency, energy usage, and other key performance areas. Support the broader Operational Support and Technical Services team on data related projects including such activities as daily and monthly operational reports, business planning, production forecasting and continuous improvement projects.
Support quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure the integrity of the data being collected and analyzed. Health \& Safety and Sustainability ReportingCollect and validate health, safety and sustainability data from various sources to provide consolidated reporting. Support the implementation of our global HSSE data platform.
Act as a "super user" of our global HSSE data platform to support sites implementation. Maintain in-depth knowledge of our global HSSE data platform and oversee the integrity, accuracy and security of the data within the platform. Identify and implement improvements to data management processes within HSSE.
Monitor key health, safety, and environmental KPIs, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to site teams and corporate leadership. Drive -- We persevere through adversity, remaining committed to delivering on our promisesQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE \& PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Mining Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.5+ years of general industry experience preferably in mining, natural resources, or heavy industries and 3+ years of experience in a data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence role. Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and other data visualization tools. Experience using AVEVA and Pi data historians for real-time operational data collection and analysis is strongly preferred
Understanding of mining operations, processing plants, etc. is a strong asset. Knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, automation tools, and database management is an advantage. Ability to work with large, complex datasets while ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present technical data to non-technical audiences. Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across departments and locations. International travel to project sites and regional offices required up to 10--15% of the time, as needed.
