Position Overview:
The Learning \& Development Coordinator is responsible for developing educational resource materials and learning opportunities for gender-based violence service providers to support their capacity to serve survivors of gender-based violence. This is achieved through online, in-person learning and training events across Ontario.
Development of Learning Opportunities \& Resources:
- Collaborates with members of the team to develop, revise, review and support the offering of educational resource materials for gender-based violence service providers related to all initiatives and projects related to training, education resource development and public awareness.
- Organizes in person learning opportunities (conferences, training days, workshops) in collaboration with other team members.
- Collaborates with team members on print, video, audio and visual resource materials for training and public awareness initiatives.
- Develops, revise and/or review course curriculum and materials for online and in person offerings for members and other requests as needed and assigned.
- Project manages the resource and curriculum creation and updating process including seeking subject matter expertise, stakeholder consultations, editing, translation and graphic design.
- Collaborates with other Coordinators to research promising practices and compile existing knowledge and resources on gender-based violence to inform content and learning outcomes.
- Reviews information by internal and external subject matter experts for accuracy, clarity and relevance.
- Collaborates with Communications Coordinator on the creative development, promotion, design and dissemination of resources.
- Develops and maintains materials for face-to-face and online learning activities that meet the needs of multiple stakeholders in gender-based violence services. Engages subject matter experts and end users as appropriate.
- Collaborates with team members to implement appropriate tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs; prepares summary reports on participant feedback and makes recommendations or adjustments as required.
- Ensures all learning initiatives align with project deliverables, core competencies, is evidence-based and adheres to OAITH's intersectional anti-racism and anti-oppression framework.
Training Hub Management and Operations:
- Collaborates with website and hosting provider to manage all aspects of the LMS and associated content while maintaining an accurate course outline and offerings.
- Ensure the user badges and certifications through external third party providers are working and effective.
- Engage and communicate with the learning community through the LMS platform ensuring registration requirements are up to date and fulfilled.
- Updates, maintains and make suggestions to improve the LMS, ensuring information provided is accurate.
- Ensure curriculum and course content (links, videos etc) are working and functional through regular monitoring. Resolve issues identified in user evaluation on technical issues.
- Ensures the reliability, performance, integrity, and security of the LMS system and related data.
- Creates, reviews and updates LMS processes, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Researches and makes suggestions on site enhancement opportunities and deliver innovative solutions with maximum value by staying up to date on LMS functionality and features.
Training Hub Testing/Troubleshooting:
- Researches and identifies complex technical issues by acting as the technical lead and collaborating with the website and hosting provider to resolve issues.
- Manages and prioritizes all LMS issues by liaising between the provider, internal and external users.
- Monitors scheduled upgrades and collaborates with IT and LMS vendor as required; notifies users of any disruption to access.
- Engages in ongoing data collection and quality improvement to ensure long-term efficiency of the LMS.
- Collaborates with other Coordinators to collect and analyze data and develop robust reporting to track trends, usage, and the effectiveness of content in alignment with the needs of users, organizational goals, and training initiatives.
- Provides technical support and timely troubleshooting to learners as needed while courses are running and when issues arise.
- Manages, collates and coordinates all job aids relating to the training hub. Conducts end user training, support and coaching as required.
- Responds to user inquiries.
- Performs specialized or technical work to support program/project deliverables and/or meet legislative requirements; remains current with relevant legislation, regional policies and practices, sector knowledge and developments, and technologies, as required.
Other Duties:
- Participates and attends internal organizational meetings with staff, members.
- Collaborates with team members and/or coordinates events as it relates to the duties in this job description.
- Attend internal/external meetings (advisories, committees, working groups) and events.
- Holds membership with various external projects that are aligned with OAITH's work, as appropriate and as assigned.
- Participates and contributes to report writing, budget development, grant writing and other capacity building initiatives and activities as a member of the team.
- Coordinates and organizes brand development for resources and OAITH projects in consultation with the Executive Director.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree is a minimum and a Master's degree is Adult Education is preferred. Project management experience is considered an asset.
- At least 2 years' experience with resource research and development.
- Ability to help others learn about gender-based violence, anti-racism/anti-oppression and the impacts of colonization.
- Ability to draw from research--based knowledge and lived experience of survivors of gender-based violence.
- Knowledge and experience of systems, services, safety planning, risk assessment and system navigation within gender-based violence services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify messaging to effectively communicate between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to motivate, problem-solve and deal with complex issues with sensitivity and respect.
- Project management skills with demonstrated judgement and initiative to take on multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines and manage tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems.
- Expert knowledge of and solid experience with content authoring systems is an asset.
- Proficiency in google workspace, web conferencing, project management software and generative AI tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards in resource development (AODA).

This position is a minimum of 32 hours per week position with a 4 day workweek option. The salary range is $47,557.12 - $55,893.76 with benefits and RRSP contributions upon successful completion of a probationary period.
