Title: Senior Consultant -- Inventory \& Process Improvement (12-Month Contract)
Location: Mississauga, ON -- Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Type: 12-Month Contract (High possibility of extension)
About the Role:
Our client, a growing mid-sized company in the distribution and manufacturing industry, is looking for a hands-on Senior Consultant to join their Finance Shared Services team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings strong inventory accounting knowledge, and has a passion for process improvement and data analysis . The ideal candidate will also support month-end close, collaborate across AP, AR, and Treasury, and play a key role in financial operations and reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inventory accounting and reconciliations, working closely with operations to ensure accurate valuation and reporting.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze and report on AR/AP metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and areas for process improvement.
- Partner with AP/AR teams to drive efficiency improvements and system enhancements across financial operations.
- Prepare and analyze cash flow reports to improve forecast accuracy and support business decisions.
- Assist with ESG reporting initiatives and maintain compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Contribute to risk assessment activities, maintain the risk tracker, and support insurance renewal processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects across shared services and finance operations.
Required Qualifications:
- CPA/CA designation is required.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and its operational impact.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and reporting.
- Proven track record in process improvements, financial data analysis, and working cross-functionally.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid setup (3 days onsite in North York).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with ERP systems (Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, Pronto or similar).
