About You and the Role
At Humani, we are a team of modern-thinking HR professionals. The HR Business Partner will be the go-to person for multiple clients across multiple jurisdictions and industries. The ideal candidate is capable of helping clients with complex people and culture problems by finding and implementing unique, customized solutions. You should have a broad knowledge of HR employment law and employee relations in multiple states (California and New York are ideal!). Skills in client and project management, attention to detail, and stellar communication are essential, along with the ability to guide organizations, leadership, and staff through change.

We are seeking an Ontario-based HR Business Partner to join our team. Our hybrid work model means working primarily remotely, with onsite support at various client sites based on business needs. Local and international travel may be required from time to time.
What You Will Do
- Act as the primary HR business partner for multiple clients across various jurisdictions.
- Analyze clients' current HR programs and design tailored HR roadmaps based on engagement specifics.
- Ensure organizations meet compliance standards for their jurisdiction.
- Align HR agendas with labour law requirements.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Handle complex compensation projects, including data analytics.
- Review HR software and processes; lead HRIS implementations when necessary.
- Review and develop performance management processes aligned with current best practices.
- Design compensation plans based on market data and industry standards.
- Manage employee relations issues as they arise.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to management and employees.
- Create and deliver HR-related training sessions.
- Participate in virtual and in-person meetings with clients' executives and staff.
- Serve as the lead relationship manager between Humani and our clients' C-Suite.
Your Skill Set
- Employment Law \& Legislation: Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law across multiple provinces; experience with union/labour relations is a plus.
- Analytical \& Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex information and make clear recommendations.
- Time Management: Effectively manage time to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Communication Skills: Excellent listening, verbal, and interpersonal skills for interacting with executives and staff.
- Organizational Skills: Be organized and efficient in problem-solving and implementation.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data with meticulous attention to detail.
- Relationship Management: Experience managing client portfolios and stakeholder relationships.
- Technology Proficiency: Aptitude for adopting new technology; proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or similar tools.
- HR Software: Experience with multiple HR software programs.
- Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles; change management experience is a plus.
Who You Are
- Minimum 5+ years of client-facing HRBP experience.
- At least 2+ years managing deliverables within an HR team.
- Degree or diploma in HR or a related field; professional HR designation is an asset.
- Passionate about HR, with experience building HR systems and processes from scratch.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Creative thinker with the ability to handle various situations flexibly.
- Self-motivated and disciplined, capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
