Title: Senior Manager, Operational Risk Oversight - Global Banking, Markets and Group Treasury

Contribute to the success of the second line operational risk oversight for the Canadian Banking business line. The Senior Manager will provide advisory and challenge in operational risk management practices, ensuring effective execution of all Operational Risk Management Framework tools, compliance with policies and standards, and proactive management of top and emerging risks.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance methodologies for operational risk controls and assess testing effectiveness by the 1st and 2nd line teams.
- Leverage strong business knowledge to act as a trusted advisor, providing value-added advice and independent challenge to the Canadian Banking business line using operational risk tools such as Risk Control Self Assessments, scenario analysis, New Initiative Risk Assessment, operational risk events escalation, issues management, and Key Risk Indicators reporting.
- Build strong partnerships, stay informed on business priorities, and serve as the main contact for Canadian Banking first-line internal control teams and global support functions.
- Proactively identify opportunities and support enhancements to the operational risk oversight practices, including the Bank's frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
- Conduct thematic analysis and root cause analysis on issues from risk events, self-assessments, scenario analyses, and reviews to identify significant risks and ensure sound mitigations.
- Support executive reporting on operational risk profiles and represent Global Operational Risks at various risk committees, providing metrics, advice, and insights.
- Collaborate with other non-financial risk areas and global second-line teams to ensure a holistic approach, staying updated on internal and external risk events and industry developments.
- Support regulatory requirements as needed, including those from OSFI and internal partners.
- Contribute to the Operational Risk Oversight team's mandate and initiatives, enhancing team capabilities and overall practices.
- Understand and incorporate the Bank's risk appetite and culture into daily activities and decisions.
- Ensure effective operations, controls, and compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations, including AML/ATF and conduct risk standards.

Do you have the skills to succeed in this role? We're looking for:
- A university degree in business, mathematics, engineering, or related fields; a Master's in finance, economics, or business is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Banking products, services, and processes.
- 5+ years of experience in management, control, risk, compliance, or audit roles.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, including with senior management and global teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and analytical skills.
