AIP Asset Management is seeking a Vice President of Fund Sales with a proven track record in alternative investments and strong relationships within the independent portfolio manager (PM), family office and intermediary channels. The successful candidate will play a key role in capital raising efforts by developing new business, managing existing relationships, and positioning AIP's funds as premier solutions for advisors and high-net-worth investors. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned wholesaler with a deep network and an entrepreneurial mindset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSales \& Business DevelopmentPromote AIP's suite of alternative investment products (e.g., private credit, hedge funds, private equity, pre-IPO) to financial intermediaries including IIROC and MFDA advisors, exempt market dealers, and family offices. Execute a territory sales strategy to drive inflows, focusing on high-potential advisors and firms. Identify and cultivate new distribution opportunities and advisor relationships.
Relationship ManagementServe as a trusted advisor and product specialist to financial advisors, discretionary portfolio managers, and dealer platforms. Deepen relationships through regular meetings, product education, and value-added support. Product Knowledge \& PresentationDeliver compelling presentations and product demos via in-person meetings, webinars, and roadshows.
Stay current on fund performance, structures, and market conditions; effectively translate complex strategies into actionable insights for advisors. Collaborate with AIP's investment and marketing teams to craft compelling narratives around product positioning. Internal CollaborationPartner with inside sales, operations, and compliance teams to ensure a seamless advisor experience.
Share advisor feedback and market intelligence to support product innovation and go-to-market strategies. Reporting \& CRMMaintain accurate records of meetings, pipeline activities, and asset flows in the firm's CRM system. Regularly report on sales progress, territory coverage, and advisor engagement metrics.
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 5 years of experience in fund sales, preferably within alternative investments. Demonstrated success raising assets through the independent advisor and discretionary PM channels. Deep understanding of alternative products and their role in portfolio construction.
Strong consultative selling skills and ability to simplify complex investment ideas. Existing relationships with Canadian wealth management platforms, particularly in the IIROC and MFDA segments. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
