We're growing-and we're looking for a dynamic, experienced Business Development Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the future of our business. As our Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and positioning our services as the go-to solution in the industry. You will work closely with internal teams and senior leadership to deliver customized staffing solutions that exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Drive outbound sales efforts, including cold-calling and outreach in defined geographic or market areas
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and potential clients
- Generate and nurture warm leads through networking, referrals, and industry events
- Lead negotiations and close high-value business deals
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs
- Represent Duke Smart Staffing at industry functions, conferences, and meetings
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success
- Continuously refine value propositions and tailor messaging to align with client priorities
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' experience in business development within the Shipbuilding/Defence industry
- Deep understanding of industry trends, procurement processes, and key stakeholders
- Proven ability to build rapport and close deals with C-level executives and decision-makers
- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- High level of integrity and discretion when dealing with confidential information
- Calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
- Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and client relationship management
