Clinical Research Project Assistant
The Cell Biology Program at the SickKids Research Institute is seeking a Clinical Research Project Assistant with outstanding participant recruitment skills for our exciting, international, multi-site research projects. Working closely with the clinical research team, the successful candidate will recruit participants and contribute to all aspects of clinical research on our team including coordinating Research Ethics Board approvals and developing collaborative relationships with other teams within the research program.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Recruit participants and obtain informed consent for research studies
- Assist in administrative tasks related to operational research projects
- Telephone participants to confirm appointments or follow-up on study requirements.
- Explain questionnaires and arrange for participants
- Prepare study case report forms and assemble study packages
- Conduct health chart reviews
- Assist in shipping, stock management and replenishment
- Assist with advance preparation for audits and site visits
- Assist with data tasks such as checking data for accuracy and completeness; data extraction; score data; data re-entry; data cleaning
- Assist in biologic sample collection and transportation
- Assisting in developing, testing, revising methods, practices and procedures including write-ups of workflows, SOPs and other documentation
Here's What You'll Need
- Post-secondary education in science
- Experience with clinical research, preferably experience interacting with paediatric populations, is an asset
- Experience with participant recruitment is an asset
- Certification as a clinical research associate (e.g., SOCRA, ACRP accreditation) is an asset
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to prioritize work in response to multiple demands
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail are essential
- Maintaining confidentiality and detailed and precise record keeping are essential skills
- Training is required in Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and other formal certifications: can be achieved after hiring if not held prior
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
