Job Description We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Administrator to join our IT team, reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud-based solutions that align with the organization’s strategic and operational goals. You’ll work hands-on with internal teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable cloud services. This role also involves contributing to cloud standards and best practices, while supporting and mentoring team members in the adoption of cloud technologies. What you will do: Provide leadership in designing, implementing, and supporting a best-in-class hybrid cloud environment. Drive improvements, enforce standards, and help maintain a robust and secure cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure cloud initiatives align with both tactical and strategic goals. Work closely with Business Relationship Managers to gather, interpret, and translate business requirements into actionable cloud solutions. Actively participate in knowledge sharing, documentation, and cross-training to reduce operational silos and improve team resilience. Mentor junior team members and promote standardized, repeatable processes for cloud administration and incident response. Manage and improve daily operations of the Azure platform, ensuring availability, scalability, and performance of cloud resources. Handle lifecycle management, incident response, and implement best practices for cost optimization and resource efficiency. Serve as a technical escalation point for Azure-related incidents and collaborate with development, networking, and DevOps teams to support hybrid and cloud-native solutions. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering and managing Microsoft Azure environments. Strong understanding of cloud service models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Proficiency using Azure CLI, PowerShell, and the Azure Portal for cloud management and automation. Demonstrated knowledge of Azure security and governance principles, including role-based access control (RBAC), policy management, cost optimization, and compliance standards. Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), are highly desirable. Additional certifications like Azure Solutions Architect Associate or Azure Security Engineer Associate are a plus. Proven ability to deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. Experience monitoring and optimizing system performance, usage, and costs using Azure-native tools. Familiarity with implementing business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery solutions in Azure. Practical experience automating deployment and configuration through scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI) or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions. Knowledge of Azure Active Directory management, hybrid identity solutions, and conditional access policies. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving Azure infrastructure and application issues. Understanding of compliance and governance best practices, including enforcing security controls, tagging, and policy enforcement. Commitment to staying current with evolving Azure services, features, and industry best practices. Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and PIPEDA is an advantage. Experience working with diverse stakeholders during requirements gathering and solution design phases. Comfortable with early technology adoption, managing change and risk, working in a fast paced, time-sensitive environments and inspiring others to do the same. Ability to document and communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in simple terms using the English language.
