This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing end-to-end financial processes. This will be an initial 12month contract with the possibility of extension. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of RAC Insurance’s financial operations. You will lead the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reports, manage reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies. Key responsibilities Perform month-end and year-end financial close processes. Prepare and review accounting transactions related to insurance, reinsurance, investments, and expenses. Deliver high-quality management, statutory, and regulatory reporting, including ARPC and APRA submissions. Maintain accurate general ledger records, complete reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies. Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts. Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies to support compliance and governance requirements. Undertake ad hoc financial projects and analysis as directed. What you’ll bring CA or CPA qualification and a relevant tertiary degree. Demonstrated experience in a Financial or Accountant role. Experience in the financial services or insurance sector is highly desirable. Strong financial accounting and reporting skills. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with general ledger and budgeting systems. High attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. What’s in it for you?
