What You Will Do: Construction Interpret complex architectural / structural drawings; lay out benchmarks, grids, and elevations for framing, formwork, vaulted roofs, feature stairs, saunas, and high-finish millwork. Direct and perform all carpentry scopes on site: concrete forms, timber / engineered-lumber framing, building-envelope details, exterior cladding, interior trims, built-ins, and zero-tolerance finishes. Coordinate labour, material deliveries, crane picks, and equipment with the Project Manager and Assistant Site Superintendent to maintain schedule. Set up and maintain temporary heat, hoarding, weather protection, and engineered shoring as required by project phasing. Move, track, and re-deploy surplus materials between work zones; report counts to site management. Ensuring garbage collection bins are used efficiently Ensure all team members and trade partners clean up after themselves, and that areas are clean at all times Set up heat and hoarding, as required Move materials and equipment, ensuring any excess materials are moved to the next site for use and the Site Manager is notified of the material count Select materials and equipment for the task at hand, utilizing common hand and power tools for general carpentry work and repair Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall Perform light touch-ups as required to surfaces such as drywall, painting, finishing carpentry, flooring, cabinets, electrical, plumbing and fiberglass glass tubs, etc. Work from heights following OH&S Act, Regulation and Code Support other aspects of construction operations and miscellaneous tasks as required. Quality Perform pre-backfill, framing, mechanical complete, and other Quality checks, providing formal documentation to managers and responsible trades Verify plumb, level, and square using lasers, total-station, and traditional layout tools; maintain ? 1 mm finish tolerances where specified. Audit various installed finished materials, building life systems, installations, fixtures and appliance for fit, finish and function Communicate deficiencies to appropriate trades partners for rectification and follow up on identified deficiencies until rectified Identify trends or construction issues affecting build quality Use levels, rulers, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment while performing Quality Control duties Safety / Leadership Enforce WorkSafeBC and Onni COR safety procedures; conduct toolbox talks and task-specific hazard assessments. Mentor carpenters and apprentices; provide on-the-spot training and performance feedback. Keep digital daily logs, photos, labour hours, and material consumption in Autodesk (or equivalent per site needs) and participate in cost-to-complete reviews. What You Bring: 8 + years custom-build or boutique commercial carpentry; 3 + years crew-lead experience. Red Seal Carpenter (or equivalent). Proven delivery of luxury custom homes, penthouses, or luxury amenity spaces. Fluent reading of AutoCAD / Revit drawings; able to raise RFIs and mark-ups. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and full professional tool kit. Skilled with standard hand/power tools; forklift/telehandler ticket an asset. Adept with field-management software Must have experience with framing, formwork and finishing Must have experience working on a commercial construction site Excellent communication skills in English Ability to work with hand and power carpentry tools and other construction equipment Ability to assess situations and identify potential hazards Comfortable working at heights Physically capable of heavy lifting, sustained standing/kneeling, heights, and variable weather.
