The Resource Division of DuBois, based out of Vancouver, requires a Senior Engineering Manager to guide, strengthen and manage our existing team of engineers. Salary range: $135,000 - 160,000 CAD KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, ensuring a collaborative, high-performance culture. Foster professional growth and development by designing and implementing specific professional and accountability plans for each individual direct report by providing regular feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities. Ensure team members have accurate job descriptions in order to conduct performance evaluations, set clear goals, and help team members succeed in their roles. Develop and manage engineering team KPIs and quality management processes Technical Strategy & Execution: Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for engineering teams. Lead technical decision-making, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions. Collaborate with Sales and Logistics teams to prioritize and deliver product roadmaps in line with business objectives. Project Management: Oversee multiple local and international projects, ensuring that teams meet deadlines, budgets, and quality expectations. Track progress, identify risks, and resolve roadblocks to ensure successful project delivery. Ensure alignment between the Vancouver Engineering Team (VET) and business goals, and effectively communicate progress and results with the Sales and Equipment teams. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, methodologies, and practices. Implement best practices for software development, testing, deployment, and operational efficiency. Promote a culture of innovation, quality, and high standards across the engineering organization. Participate and review in the technical design and proposal generation processes of VET projects Drive lean inventory management in our equipment warehouses to minimize slow moving items and reduce excess inventory. Continually drive supply chain cost saving projects to help improve sales proposal conversion success Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key technical advisor in meetings with customers and prospects to support sales efforts. Provide guidance in aligning business objectives with technical execution. Oversee the logistical functions (shipping & receiving) for the equipment warehouses Oversee the sourcing, qualifying, managing and presenting to key suppliers and contractors Coordinate and implement contractual agreements with vendors Support the Sales Team in implementing and executing contractual agreements with customers QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental or Industrial) MBA or extensive business management experience Experience: 10 years of relative experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role. Proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams and delivering complex projects. Technical Skills: International Engineering Projects experience is a key asset Licensed as a practicing Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia Significant large project management experience in oil/gas, mining or similar is required. Experience with large, complex technical projects (oil/gas, mining, etc..) is required Experience working with international contractors and suppliers is an asset Sales and customer service experience is an asset. Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a focus on coaching and mentoring. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
