As part of the Infrastructure Maintenance team, the Eco Station Attendant plays a hands-on role in supporting a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community. This is your opportunity to make a visible impact and help residents dispose of their materials in a safe and environmentally responsible way. What is the opportunity? As an Eco Station Attendant, you’ll be the first point of contact for residents visiting the Eco Station. Reporting to the Eco Station Supervisor, this role plays an essential part in ensuring residents can dispose of their recycling and waste safely and responsibly. You’ll be responsible for helping maintain a clean, organized site that meets Alberta Recycling Management Authority standards, while also guiding the public in proper sorting and disposal to reduce contamination and improve site efficiency. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that requires physical activity year-round, including clearing ice and snow during the winter months. If you enjoy working independently, engaging with the public, and being part of a team that supports sustainability and public safety, this could be a great fit for you. What will you do? Assist residents with sorting and disposing of items at the Eco Station Inspect materials and remove any contamination Safely receive, store, and prepare household hazardous waste for pick-up Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite Complete records and reports, including E-waste tracking and daily deposits Communicate with contractors to schedule bin pickups Collect fees and handle monetary transactions Respond to public questions about disposal processes and station use Who you are: You have a high school diploma and at least two (2) years of experience in a customer-facing role You’re approachable, safety-minded, and take pride in providing excellent service You’re physically able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions You have a valid Class 5 driver’s license You’re willing and able to complete WHMIS, TDG, and emergency first aid training You’re comfortable working independently and as part of a small, hands-on team You’re knowledgeable (or eager to learn) about household hazardous waste What we Offer?
